>UGH< Still Traveling

Guess where I am? Right! Sitting in the back of a truck in my box, smushed against a bunch of other boxes. There is one exciting thing that happened this morning, though. I was sitting in my box, playing Snowboard Betty on my laptop. The music was quietly playing. After a while, I turned it off. But... the music was still playing! I was TOTALLY confused. I turned my laptop off, and still it played on. That's when I realized the music was coming from the box next to me. I ran and started banging on the side of my box.
"HELLO?" I yelled.  The music stopped. I heard a shuffling noise, then I heard a muffled voice call back,
"HIIIII!"
I jumped.
"MY NAME'S KAILIE! WHAT'S YOURS? I'M AN AMERICAN GIRL DOLL!"
"I'm McKenna," I called back. "I'm an American Girl doll too!"
"SWEEEEEEEEET!" yelled Kailie. Suddenly, a small hole in the side of my box was ripped open and a freckled face appeared.
"AAAAAH!" I screamed.
"Sheesh!" came the reply from the freckled face, which now showed crackling green eyes and bright red hair.  "It's just me, Kailie!"
"Oh," I said, feeling rather stupid. "Hi."
"So!" said Kailie brightly. "Where are you on your way to?"
"Honestly, I have no clue," I admitted. "All I know is that I'll be in my new home next week!"
"Cool!" said Kailie. "What's your email address?"
"It's mckenna.brooks.gymnast@gmail.com !" I answered. (It actually is)
"Cool! Mine's kailiebearjellybellybean@gmail.com !" she replied.
And that's how the day's gone! The two of us, talking and sitting, smushed to death.
Farewell, dear readers.

And it goes on, and on, and on... and it goes on, and on, and o-on, yeah :(

Just like the song Dynamite, this road goes on, and on, and on, yeah it goes on, and on and o-on, yeah! Ugh. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bored. I have been driving in this stupid truck for hours! My new sis emailed me again, but Toulane, Sierra, Josie, and everyone else seem to be ignoring my pleas for communication. I've been sitting in my box like forEVER. And I haven't been able to change my clothes either, because they put bands on my neck and feet! And I can't get them off! :( So I sit here and wait to get to my new home! I can't WAIT! All I can do is keep on imagining what it will be like when I arrive!

Sleepover and Shipping

"I win!" yelled Toulane gleefully as she held up her 10 green cards. We were playing Apples to Apples   (this was yesterday) and she had won.  (if you couldn't tell from the first sentence.)
"Okay, okay," I laughed. "You win. Let's have our pizza now!"
"Agreed!" cried Sierra, and we each grabbed a slice of pepperoni and extra cheddar, the best kind by far. When we were finished chugging glasses of lemonade, we looked around the room for more things to do.
"We could sleep?" suggested Sierra.
"EW, no!" Toulane disagreed. "Why would you sleep at a sleepover?"
Sierra and I chuckled.
"I know!" said Toulane. "Let's go onto the attendants computer!"
"What? No, Toulane, we can't do that to Jen!" I was shocked. How could she think of hacking the store owner's computer?
"They'll NEVER know, McKenna, come on! We won't go on the American Girl program! We'll just go on the..." my best friend since babyhood paused for dramatic effect. "the Internet."
"Toulane, there's not much to see," I began, then covered my mouth with my hands. None of the dolls are allowed on the internet, except reserved ones who create a blog. But we're not supposed to tell ANYONE about it.
Toulane narrowed her eyes at me. "So, you've been on the internet?"
"Um," I began very intelligently. "I didn't say that, Toulane."
"But  you meant it!" she countered. Pacing back and forth on the tiled floor, she reminded me of a tiger, stalking its prey. "So, McKenna, just how did you get on this internet?"
"I never said I had  been," I gulped, feeling sweaty.
"Then there must be a lot to see, unless you'd care to prove me wrong?" she asked slyly.
Now I got it. She tricked me into getting HER way!
"Fine," I sighed, feeling a small jitter of excitement. Or was that guilt?
We tiptoed into the attendant's office. No one was there, so we pressed the button that turned on the computer. Instead, it set off the security alarm.
Screaming, we ran back to our places. On the way, I grabbed a doll suitcase from the travel set and once I got into my box, I sat on it. In about five minutes, someone burst into the store. It was a policeman. He searched the entire building but found nothing.
"Ah, something probably just fell on the dang button," he muttered. He shut the door and locked it as he headed outside.
I jumped out of my box and met Toulane, Sierra, Mara, Maisey, and a few others in the hallway with my suitcase.
"That was freaky," Toulane said shakily.
"Ya think?"  I joked. "Now, let's just help me pack, okay?"
I packed my school outfit, accessories, rain gear, practice wardrobe, pajamas, and cast and crutches in my suitcase. Then I zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzipped it up and put it in my box.
"Look guys, I need to go to  sleep now. I have a BIG trip tomorrow. I'm going all the way to ********!"  (again, safety not swearing!)
"Okay, okay," sighed Toulane. Then from behind her back, she pulled three sleeping bags!
"wahoo!" screamed Sierra, then we climbed in. We talked for a while, then I kissed Mara and Maisey goodbye, and hugged everyone else except Toulane and Sierra. We stayed up playing Truth or Dare until Sierra started snoring.
"Toulane?" I whispered.
"Yeah?" came her soft reply.
"You're my best friend." was all I said. She knew how much more it meant.
"I  know," she said. "You're mine too."
                                                                          <3
This morning, Jen came in early to get me ready for shipping. She packed some of my clothes in other boxes because "the suitcase was too full!" Now all my suitcase contained was my school clothes, accessories, and rain gear. My practice wardrobe and everything else I packed were in seperate boxes. Then it was time for my final goodbyes.
Sierra was first.
"Sierra," I said. "Thanks for being such a great friend. I will see you again sometime!"
Then we hugged. I didn't let go, and neither did she. Not until Jen gently said, "Girls, we have to keep moving."
Josie was next.
"Josie, I-I-I--you've been the best tutor ever! I'm going to convince my sisters to adopt you, I will! I promise!" then I burst into tears and Josie hugged me from her wheelchair.
"It's okay, McKenna," she whispered soothingly.  "We can email, and text, and-"
"IT'S NOT OKAY!" I screamed. But then Mara ran forward and hugged my waist.
"It is okay, McKenna," she said. "We can skype and FaceTime and everything."
Mara's calm attitude totally calmed me down.
Elizabeth Onishi, a beautiful girl from my class, gave me a quick hug. "McKenna, you've been a great friend! I'll email you, okay?"
"Okay," I sniffed.
Finally, there was Maisey and Toulane.
"Bye, Maise,"  I whispered, fighting back more tears. "I love you."
Then Toulane stepped forward. Neither of us said anything, I just hugged her. Long and strong. Then Jen broke us apart.
"I'm sorry," she said. "But the truck is here."
Sniffling, I nodded, and was about to leave when I saw my face in a mirror.
"Oh no!" I cried. "Now my new family will think  I'm a baby when they see I've been crying!"
"McKenna!" Jen cried surprised. "No one will think you're a baby, but--it takes more than one day to get there, darling! Your face will have returned to normal by the time you get there!"
"WHAT?" I cried. More than one day?
"Now we've got to go. I'm sorry, McKenna." Jen put me in my box, attached the little rubber bands to my feet and a loose one to my neck, added my suitcase, and put me in a bigger box. There was also some other boxes of outfits in there. I was wearing my pajamas still, so I was about to change into my meet outfit when Jen poked some holes in the box with a knife. Air to breathe! Ahh. Just then, someone picked up my box and began to carry it out. I started to scream, but then remembered I had to be quiet. the box  was set gently in the back of a truck, and slowly we began to move. I quickly got out of my pajamas and into my favorite outfit- a gray and teal striped dress with teal leggings, and purple and teal shoes. I pulled my bangs back too.
Suddenly, I heard a beeping. I opened a small box and inside was a laptop! A real laptop! and it had...... wifi everywhere! There was 6 emails waiting for me on it.
Dear McKenna, the first one said.
I love you so much wait no i love you more no i do annieways we miss you love mara maisey
The next ones, from Toulane, Sierra, Josie, Jen, and Holly made me cry. I wrote back then climbed into my box and fell asleep for the long trip ahead.

Goodbyes :(

Last night was the saddest night of my life. And that's pretty sad!  I'm still a little upset, although excited for tonight's--well, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Last night, when the store closed, all the dolls climbed out of their boxes. I leapt out of mine and ran into the room where Toulane and Sierra were waiting.
"McKenna.. we heard you were reserved," Sierra said quietly.
"Yeah," Toulane sniffed haughtily. "Must be... nice."
Surprised at her inconsiderate attitude, I countered "Well, actually, I'm kind of scared. I mean, who says they're nice? And plus, I'm gonna miss you guys SO MUCH!"
Toulane looked surprised, but quickly regained a suspicious look. "Mmhmm."
My eyes filled with tears. This was my last memory of my best friends? Toulane looked ANGRY and Sierra was sad. I wanted my last memory to be of us together, happy and laughing!
I turned away and hurried into the little kid's room to see my sisters. Mara and Maisey were practicing handstands against the wall and spotting each other. I arrived just as Maisey collapsed on top of her twin sister with a loud "OOOF!"
"Hey guys!" I said, once again blinking back tears at the sight of my little sisters.
"Hi McKenna!" they announced in unison. "Will you spot us?" Mara asked. "PLEEEEASE?" added Maisey, making a puppy dog face at me.
"Girls, listen. I've been reserved and I'm getting shipped off tomorrow to my new home."
"What?"
"I know. But I'll come to visit! And you never know, maybe they want some twins too!" I added hopefully.
Mara and Maisey rushed forward and I embraced them. After a few long moments, I stood to go.
"Where are you going?" asked Maisey.
"I have a lot of goodbyes  to make," I explained. "But I'll come back for one last hug, I promise."
I hurried out of the kid's room, towards the stables where Josie helps out. Just as I was about to enter, I heard a giggle from the other barn. Curious, I went to open it and inside stood Toulane,  Sierra, Mara, Maisey, Josie, Isabelle, and just about all of my other friends!
"SURPRISE!" they yelled.
I gasped, staring at them all. Toulane was grinning, and didn't look at all upset.
"Toulane?" I asked.
"Look, McKenna, I 'm sorry I was a little rude earlier. Sierra pointed out that just cause I was jealous, didn't mean  I should take it out on you! It's not like you chose to leave." Toulane explained.
"Jealous? of Me? I have to leave all my friends and family and  you're jealous?" I laughed.
"Well.... yeah."
"McKenna?" I turned to Isabelle Manning, my gymnastics coach and hugged her. "McKenna, you've been a wonderful student and it's been my pleasure to coach you. I'm definitely going to miss you." She winked. "and, I have a surprise for you, too!" Isabelle handed me an envelope with my name on it.
I opened it and pulled out a letter.
Dear McKenna,
My name is  ********** (sorry, safety reasons!) and  I am adopting you into my family! I am so excited to meet you as are Becca and the others! Can't wait to see you!
Love,
*****
So maybe they are nice!
Anyway, I have to go get ready. It turns out once again my shipping date got changed until tomorrow morning, so tonight me, Sierra, Toulane, and Josie are having a SLUMBAH PAHTY!!!!! I'll write about it tomorrow!

A Day in the life of--well--me.

Usual... average. That's what  I hate about life in the factory. It's so... predictable. Except for today!Well, I guess I should probably explain to you what ahappened, because my guess is that the readers of my blog have NEVER BEEN TRAPPED IN A AMERICAN GIRL STORE!!!! Not that I'm upset or anything.  Anyway, I woke up with a start to find a banging on my box.
"Wake up!" yelled Holly, her dark curly hair swinging as she grinned. Holly is our... alarm clock. She's loud and loves to wake people up. Especially when it involves them being grouchy. Don't ask me why.
"mmmmmmmmmmmmmup....." I muttered, blinking my eyes awake.
"What's that? I didn't quite catch what you said!" screamed my friend, winking.
"I'm up!" I yelled back, stumbling out of my box.
"Well then, McKenna Ray, you better go get dressed!"
I yawned as I hurried to the bathroom, where all the dolls were dressing happily in their outfits. I walked over to the hanger that had "MCKENNA RAY" written on it. Ray is my middle name, not my last, but all the McKenna's here are Brooks, so they go by middle names. I slipped into my dress and leggings, putting my hair in a high ponytail and applying light lipgloss to my lips.
I was turning to leave when I felt a sharp taser in my sides.
"AAAAAH!" I screamed, even though I knew it was Toulane.
"Tou-lane,"  I groaned, although I couldn't hide a smile.
"Ready to shine?" she asked.
"Ready!" I grinned.
Just then, a bell went and all of us dolls ran to our boxes and put on our smiles. Suddenly,  the store filled with little girls, grabbing boxes and pulling our friends away. I was thinking how lucky I was to have spent so much time here, when suddenly a little sticky-fingered six year old grabbed my box and pulled it off the shelf.
"I want this one Mommy," said the girl toothlessly.
"Camilla, I don't care which one you get! Let's just pick and go!" said the woman standing next to her.
Oh no, I thought. I didn't want to be adopted by this woman and her daughter. They didn't seem very respectful.
But off we went to the checkout. The teller, Jane, scanned me through, then turned to the woman and her daughter.
"I'm very sorry," she said. "But McKenna Ray here is reserved for the Greenfield family. You'll have to pick another doll."
The woman sniffed rudely and walked away, Jane put me in the room for reserved dolls.
"Now, Kenna, you're getting shipped out tomorrow morning. I pushed it back so you would have time to say goodbye tonight to Toulane and the others. Have a great trip and Keep In Touch!" Jane said.
I was still in shock as I realized--I'm reserved! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Then tonight, I'm gonna have to say goodbye to all my best friends. My sisters, Mara and Maisey, and my dog, Cooper.
I'll probably post about my goodbyes later or tomorrow, so see ya then!
<3 McKenna

Welcome to my blog!

Hi there! My name is McKenna Ray Brooks, but everyone calls me McKenna or Kenna. I'm 13 years old, and I live in the American Girl Factory! Not many of us here have a blog, just us dolls who are reserved! I'm reserved for my new family, the Greenfields. I'll be going there soon to meet all my new sisters and I'm so excited! I'll start by telling you all a bit about myself.
I'm a gymnast, and I have been for years. I also love to dance, sing, and act. I'm outgoing, and I don't care if people think I'm weird! I love wearing suspenders, and I love pandas! My best friend, Toulane, is getting adopted in a few years, and hopefully my sisters Mara and Maisey too! I love to party, shop, and be with my friends.  I also love to write and take pictures. My favorite TV show is Life with Derek, and my favorite singers are Taylor Swift and Britt Nicole.
Anyway, enough about me! I'm going to start posting regularly now, so comment and follow!
Thanks!
